At Hire and Style, we are excited to now offer Consignment hires. 

What is a consignment?

Consignment is a simple and hassle-free way to earn money from your used/new designer clothing items. Instead of selling your items outright, you can place them in our shop and earn a percentage of the sale price when they are rented by our customers.  Consignment garments will have a trial period of 3 months. If they do not receive any bookings during this time, they will be removed from the Hire and Style website and you will be notified that the garment is ready for pick up from the store. 

How does it work?

1. Send over Photos/Information: Take clear photos/videos of the items that you are wanting to rent out. Along with the photos, include information such as brand, size, color, fabric, and any notable features or details about each item.We accept dresses size 6-16 that have been purchased in the last 18 months, with a minimum RRP of $200.

2.Contact Us: Reach out to us via email or Instagram DM to schedule a consignment drop off and submit your photos and item information. 

3.Set the Terms: Once your items are accepted, we'll agree on a rental price and duration. Typically, items are rented out for a set period, and you'll receive a percentage of the rental fee. Consignment garments will have a trial period of 3 months. If they do not receive any bookings during this time, they will be removed from the website and you will be notified that the garment is ready for pick up from the store. 

4.Sit Back and Earn: Once your items are on our racks, all you have to do is sit back and wait for them to be rented. We'll take care of marketing, displaying, and managing the rental process.

5.Get Paid: When your items are rented out, you'll receive your share of the rental fee. We offer a 50% commission rate, meaning you'll earn half of the rental price for each item.

Do we have to do any of the work? 

The beauty of consigning is that Hire and Style takes care of all the work for you including marketing, bookings, postage and cleaning. Your dress will be treated as one of our own. All you have to do is drop off or post your garment(s) to our store.

 When and How will payment be made?

You will be paid to your bank account in the first week of every month, for hires made in the previous month.

What happens if my garment gets damaged or ruined?

It is normal for minor wear to accumulate over time, such as light pulls, scuffs or small marks. Minor damages that require repair such as holes,torn hemlines or broken straps will be fixed if possible by our dry cleaner, at the cost of the customer. Major damages that require replacement of the dress are also to be paid by the customer who hired the garment.

Unfortunately, sometimes theft of hires can occur, although exceedingly rare. It is a risk we take as a business, and one that you therefore take by choosing to rent your dresses too.
